On 22 March 2018, the Lancang-Mekong Vocational Education Forum was held in Tianjin Sino-German University of Applied Sciences (TSGUAS). More than 150 participants attended the Forum including embassy officials from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Viet Nam, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, relevant departments of Tianjin, vocational institutions, universities and industries. Ms. Zhou Hui, Deputy Director of Education, Culture and Tourism Division of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), was invited to the forum.
The Forum is among a series of meaningful activities to celebrate the First Lancang-Mekong Week from 19 to 24 March 2018 in TSGUAS. The forum was designed to promote vocational education exchanges and cooperation among the Lancang-Mekong countries, encourage all parties to make Lancang-Mekong cooperation an important platform for the Belt and Road Initiative, and join hands to build a Lancang-Mekong Community with shared future. Various keynote speakers shared views and insights on strengthening collaboration to promote the development of vocational education in Lancang-Mekong countries.
During the Forum, Ms. Zhou Hui briefed on ACC’s efforts in promoting ASEAN-China education cooperation and exchanged ideas with participants on furthering vocational education cooperation based on mutual demands.
