On 21 March 2018, H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), met with Mme. Tina Teng Iat Ho, President of Women’s General Association of Macao, and exchanged views on promoting the development of ASEAN-China and ASEAN-Macao women’s course. Ms. Jessica Wong, Assistant to Mme. President Tina Teng Iat Ho, and Mr. Zhang Xuehai, Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations Division of ACC, attended the meeting.
Secretary-General Yang Xiuping spoke highly of the outstanding contribution that Women’s General Association of Macao and President Tina Teng Iat Ho made to women’s course. She stated that ACC actively expands cooperation areas and has forged close partnerships with All-China Women's Federation, China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, Beijing Women's Federation and other organizations. In this area, ACC organized a series of colourful events including organizing visits by ASEAN and Chinese female diplomats, and actively supporting and participating in innovation and entrepreneurship forum for ASEAN-China female entrepreneurs, and Lancang-Mekong women forum. ACC would like to enhance contacts and communications with the Women’s General Association of Macao, and actively explore cooperation to jointly push forward the development of women’s course and inject impetus into the all-around and in-depth development of ASEAN-China relations.
President Tina Teng Iat Ho appreciated the tremendous efforts made by ACC in promoting ASEAN-China friendly exchanges and cooperation. She gave an overview of the Women’s General Association of Macao and stated that the Association maintains close links with women from all walks of life of Macao and is committed to protecting women and children’s legal rights and interests, developing women and children’s course, undertaking women’s cultural and health-care activities and increasing women’s quality and status. The Association has actively strengthened contacts with women’s associations in ASEAN countries and has invited representatives of ASEAN countries to Macao for women sports carnival and other events. The Association looked forward to making joint efforts with ACC to push forward ASEAN-China and ASEAN-Macao cooperation in women’s course and achieve more outcomes.
