ACC Secretary-General Met with Deputy Director-General of Foreign Affairs and Tourism Commission of Standing Committee of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Congress

On 26 April 2018, H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), met with Mr. Si Jinquan, Deputy Director-General of Foreign Affairs and Tourism Commission of Standing Committee of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Congress. Mr. XuYajun, Office Director of Foreign Affairs and Tourism Committee of Standing Committee of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Congress, Mr. Zhang Xuehai, Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations Division of ACC, attended the meeting.

Secretary-General Yang commended Jiangsu’s important role in promoting ASEAN-Jiangsu cooperation in trade, investment, education, tourism, culture and other areas, and highlighted ACC’s efforts in tourism. She stated that with the further implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative and ASEAN Community, ASEAN-China cooperation shows new vigor and vitality. Jiangsu has time-honored friendship with ASEAN countries. ACC stands ready to enhance communications with the Commission and jointly undertake relevant projects with a view to elevating ASEAN-China and ASEAN-Jiangsu friendly exchanges and cooperation to a new height.

Deputy Director-General Si commended ACC’s tremendous efforts in promoting ASEAN-China friendly exchanges. He mentioned that ASEAN is an important area for Jiangsu’s foreign exchanges. Both sides have witnessed ever-deepening cooperation in various areas with fruitful outcomes. ACC is an important platform and bond linking ASEAN and China and provides active support and assistance to Jiangsu in expanding exchanges and cooperation with ASEAN. The Commission will continue to give a full play to its role and contribute more to ASEAN-Jiangsu cooperation on platforms established by ACC.
