From 5 to 8 May 2018, H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) participated in the “Ambassadors Visiting Jiangxi Activity” organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China. This visit is a follow-up activity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China presenting Jiangxi event under the theme of “An Open China: Beautiful Jiangxi, Showing Her Charm to the World”, which aims to showcase the new economic and social development of Jiangxi and promote exchanges and cooperation between Jiangxi and other countries. Ambassadors or representatives from 11 countries such as Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore as well as international organizations visited Jingdezhen city, Fuzhou city and attended the Jiangxi tourism promotion event.
H.E. Mr. Liu Qi, Secretary of the Communist Party of China Jiangxi Committee met the delegation. He made a brief introduction of Jiangxi and its economic and social development. He said in recent years, Jiangxi has adhered to the new development theory, unswervingly speeding its development and transformation and upgrading of the economic structureso as to realize high quality development. He hoped that all ambassadors and representatives could take this visit as an opportunity, to actively advance cooperation between Jiangxi and their countries especially in areas of economy, culture, tourism and education. H.E. Mr. Thit Linn Ohn and other representatives said that through the visit, they had personally felt the dynamic development of Jiangxi and got to know the great achievements of Jiangxi on passing down culture and tradition, protecting eco-environment and speeding up the rural construction. They hoped to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between their countries and Jiangxi in all areas and enhance mutual understanding and friendship.
During the visit, Secretary-General Yang Xiuping widely exchanged views with relevant officials of Jiangxi and members of the delegation. She briefed on ACC’s recent work and said that 2018 marks the 15th anniversary of ASEAN-China strategic partnership and the ASEAN-China Year of Innovation. ACC would continue to serve as a one-stop information and activities centre, and actively play its bridging role to facilitate Chinese provinces including Jiangxi to expand cooperation with ASEAN countries so as to realize win-win cooperation and benefit both peoples.
