Delegation of the Seminar on China-Thailand Business Culture Integration Visited ASEAN-China Centre

On 16 July 2018, a group of 20 members from the Seminar on China-Thailand Business Culture Integration visited ASEAN-China Centre (ACC). The Thai delegation visited the ACC exhibition hall and exchanged views with officials from the Trade and Investment Department (TID) and the Education, Culture and Tourism Department (ECTD).

Ms. Li Sa, TID officer, extended a warm welcome to the Thai delegation on behalf of ACC and introduced ACC’s mandate and work. She mentioned that this year is the 15th anniversary of ASEAN-China strategic partnership and the ASEAN-China Year of Innovation. ACC is committed to promoting ASEAN-China practical cooperation on trade, investment, education, culture, tourism, information and media, and has organized a series of colourful activities and achieved positive results. She also said that in recent years, bilateral trade between China and Thailand has continued to grow. In 2017, bilateral trade was USD 80.3 billion, with a year-on-year increase of 6%. China remains Thailand’s largest trading partner. In addition, China and Thailand have made great progress in practical cooperation in the fields of science and technology innovation, tourism and finance. ACC is ready to strengthen exchanges with people from all walks of life in Thailand and jointly promote Thailand-China and ASEAN-China friendly cooperation to achieve more results. Mr. Zhang Fengyu, ECTD officer, introduced the work completed by ECTD and interacted with the delegation on Thailand-China educational cooperation.

The Thai delegation thanked ACC for their warm reception and noted that ACC has made active efforts and important contributions to China-ASEAN practical cooperation. The visit has enhanced their understanding of ACC and they will continue to fulfill their jobs after returning home in order to play an active role in the friendly cooperation between Thailand and China.
