On 25 October 2018, the 6th Regional Forum on Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization in Asia and the Pacific, which was co-hosted by UN Centre of Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization (CSAM), China Agricultural Machinery Distribution Association (CAMDA), China Agricultural Mechanization Association (CAMA) and China Association of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers (CAMM), was held at Wuhan International Conference Centre. Representatives from Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), government officials, experts and representatives of chambers and associations from nearly 30 countries in the Asia-Pacific region including China, Thailand, Cambodia, the Philippines, India and Sri Lanka, attended the event. Mr. Guo Chuanwei, Director of Trade and Investment Division of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), participated in the Forum upon invitation.
The participants briefed on agricultural production, import & export, mechanization and the problems occurred, government’s role in the process of agricultural mechanization, and discussed on how to maximize the role of private sectors and improve the level of agricultural mechanization.
