ACC Representative Attended the 41st SEAMEO High Officials Meeting

From 28 to 29 November 2018, the 41st Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) High Officials Meeting (HOM) was successfully held in Bangkok, Thailand. The event was attended by around 150 people, including senior officials of education from SEAMEO Member Countries, representatives from SEAMEO Affiliate Members and Associate Members as well as observers from partner organizations of SEAMEO.

Dr. Sophon Napathorn, Vice Minister of Education of Thailand, and Dr. Gatot Hari Priowirjanto, Secretary-General of the SEAMEO Secretariat delivered welcome and opening remarks respectively. Ms. Zhou Hui, Deputy Director of Education, Culture and Tourism Division of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) attended the meeting and briefed on ACC’s work programme 2019 for future collaboration with SEAMEO in education. She also had in-depth exchanges with representatives from SEAMEO Affiliate Centres and relevant international organizations on strengthening cooperation in higher and vocational education.

While attending the HOM, Zhou also had meetings with Ms. Song Ruoyun, First Secretary and Chief of Education Office of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, and Mr. Wang Huichang, head of Representative Office of the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) in Thailand.
