ACC Representative Attended the 53rd Meeting of ASEAN NTOs and the 38th Meeting of ASEAN Plus Three NTOs

On 2 Feb 2020, the 53rd Meeting of ASEAN National Tourism Organisations (NTOs) was held online.The meeting was chaired by Mr. Thong Rathasak, Director-General of Tourism Development International Cooperation of the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia. Over 80 delegates from ASEAN NTOs, ASEAN Secretariat, ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), ASEAN-Japan Centre (AJC), ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC), World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), ASEAN travel associations and other relevant organisations joined the meeting and shared their understandings on regional tourism recovery and development. 

During the meeting, ACC representative gave a detailed presentation on the role of ACC, the latest figures of ASEAN-China tourism market, ACC’s key achievements and activities in 2020 and the preliminary Work Programme of 2021 in the field of tourism cooperation. The ASEAN NTOs and other relevant organisations appreciated ACC’s sustained efforts in promoting ASEAN tourism and reiterated their interest in strengthening tourism cooperation with ACC in the future. 

The meeting discussed a series of issues on regional tourism projects, strategies and measures. On 3 February 2021, ACC representative also attended the 38th Meeting of ASEAN Plus Three NTOs via video link and broadly exchanged views with other delegates on regional tourism initiatives.
