ACC Organized Diplomatic Envoys of AMS Visited Luoyang City

From 20 to 21 July 2021, the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) organized the diplomatic envoys of ASEAN Member States (AMS) to attend the ASEAN-China (Henan) Trade and Investment Promotion Seminar to visit Luoyang City, Henan Province. Mme. Khamphao Ernthavanh, Ambassador of Lao PDR to China, Mr. Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of ACC, Mr. Boun Inthabandith, Consul-General of the Lao PDR in Changsha, Mr. Benjamin Sukanjanajtee, Minister of the Embassy of Thailand, Mr. Dinno M. Oblena, Minister of the Embassy of the Philippines, Ms. Zin Mar Htwe, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of Myanmar, Mr. Khouanchay Iemsouthi, Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of Lao PDR as well as representatives of Consulate-Generals of Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines in Shanghai and ACC attended the activities.

Mr. Jiang Ling, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Henan Provincial Committee and Secretary of CPC Luoyang Municipal Committee, Mr. Xu Yixian, Deputy Secretary of CPC Luoyang Municipal Committee and Acting Mayor of Luoyang exchanged views with AMS guests respectively. They introduced the history and culture, development orientation and characteristic industries of Luoyang to the guests, and expressed that Luoyang is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with AMS, and to strive for building China's advanced manufacturing and innovation bases, to serve the fostering of China’s new development pattern and the rise of central China.

Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh expressed sympathy and solicitude for the people affected by the torrential rain disaster in Henan Province and admiration for the Chinese government's emergency management capability. She said that the ASEAN-China (Henan) Investment and Trade Promotion Seminar and supporting activities were rich in content, providing a good platform for the diplomatic envoys of AMS to discuss, learn from and share future cooperation opportunities with Henan Province. She hoped that ACC could organize more activities to promote ASEAN-China friendly cooperation for mutual benefit and win-win results.

Secretary-General Chen Dehai briefed on the functions of ACC and expressed that ACC is willing to joint hand with Luoyang to continuously deepening the friendly cooperation with AMS in all fields.

During the stay in Luoyang City, ACC and the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Luoyang organized the diplomatic envoys of AMS to visit the Yituo Group Co,.LTD, CITIC Heavy Industries Co., LTD., and historical and cultural sites including ancient Luoyi City, White Horse Temple and Luoyang Peony Porcelain Museum. Diplomatic envoys of AMS also making peony porcelain by hand and were deeply impressed by Henan's long history, unique culture and advanced manufacturing industry.
