There are several ways to travel from China to Indonesia, depending on your preferences and starting location in China. The most common and practical way is by air travel.
1. Direct Flights
Major Airports: You can fly from major Chinese cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, or Guangzhou to Indonesia. Most direct flights land in Jakarta (Soekarno-Hatta International Airport) or Bali (Ngurah Rai International Airport).
Airlines: Airlines such as Garuda Indonesia, China Southern Airlines, Air China and AirAsia offer direct or connecting flights between China and Indonesia.
Duration: The flight duration for direct flights is usually around 6 to 7 hours, depending on the route.
2. Connecting Flights
If you're flying from a smaller city in China or there are no direct flights, you can take a connecting flight via regional hubs like Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong or Bangkok.
Common Airlines: Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, and Cathay Pacific also offer connections.
3. Overland and Sea Routes
Overland travel combined with a sea route is possible but much longer and more complex. You would need to travel through countries like Vietnam, Thailand, or Malaysia, and from there take a ferry or ship to Indonesia. However, this method is not commonly used for long-distance travel between China and Indonesia due to time and logistical complexity.
Visa Requirements
Indonesia offers visa on arrival for Chinese Citizens or apply for an online visa.
